I really wanted a nice selfie on my beloved bike but the chain fell off last Friday so a walking selfie is kinda boring. However, I was really proud of continuing to cycle through the depths of winter here in Oslo. It was a learning curve – my bike lock froze and I struggled on a few occasions. But the local council here did a subsidy scheme for studded bike tyres and I powered through! Here’s a photo of my poor bike, pre-ride.
What I need to do better: I use gadgets heavily in my work and play. Computers, phones, etc. I’ve gotten better but still not sweating my tech for as long as I could be – tech that takes materials, mining, and emissions to make and transport. Here’s a pic of my old laptop, with a rapidly expanding and very dangerous battery, that I finally will be getting a replacement for tomorrow!
